Senior Photo Shoot

Wow, I have been busy lately! When this very handsome young man asked me to shoot his senior pictures, I was so excited to do it, but a bit nervous because I'm so swamped. He needed them in record time for the yearbook, but I was able to pull it off. He was so natural in front of the camera that it made editing them a cinch. Thanks Randell, you were so much fun to shoot!

PRACTICE!

I've decided that I don't practice enough. When I first got my camera, I took pictures of every move my children made. I would ask people if I could take pictures of their kids. Now, I'm just too busy to practice. I'm too busy editing the photos I take instead of going out there, shooting a bunch of pictures and then saying, They're good enough! I need to get out more. That's the fun part about photography anyway, right? Well, tomorrow I've got a fun photo shoot with some young women in my church and then after that I've got a senior shoot I'm looking forward to. I am going to practice more, because this stuff is fun!

Kayleen and Bobby #2

I had a blast shooting this couple's wedding a week ago. I'm working hard on getting as many edited as I can before my next one, but here is a small mix of some that are completed (more to come later). Kayleen, you're such a beautiful bride. Congrats and I hope you're enjoying married life.

More baby bump

Here are a few more from my maternity shoot with Dan and Courtney. Doesn't Courtney make you sick? She's just too pretty. I told her I want her to take pictures of me when I'm preggo, but I promise you I won't be as cute! She'll have to edit out my swollen cankles and double chins ;-)

The last few are some silly ones I made Dan do. He humored me. Thank you, Dan!

These are my very good friends who are expecting this July. Courtney (who is a photographer herself) asked if I would take some shots of them, and I absolutely said yes. Since this was my first maternity shoot and Courtney is a photographer as well, I will admit I was a bit nervous. It was A LOT of fun, though! They entertained my ideas and random bursts of hysterical laughter while they sat in silence not knowing what the heck was wrong with me. Let's just say that Dan (her husband) is very entertaining, even when he's not trying to be. I will hopefully post more later!

I'm finishing up the edits for these second set of photos and I decided to share a few. What a cutie, huh?

Color Casts

I have started editing the second set of my friend's pictures. This time it's her son, and he is so cheesy and fun, I just loved it. I have been having a problem, though. Because my computer screen has some coloring issues, it's made my color correction process a bit stressful, especially in times like the photo below. My friend suggested a picture of her son climbing through the big red tube at the park. Such a cute idea...but I quickly realized that I would have to spend a bit more time editing the color. The red from the tube was reflecting on his face and making it look like he had been out in the sun too long, and his hair resembles a bad dye job. In this picture he is a bit farther out of the tube, so it isn't as bad, but I still had to edit out some of the red. Now, skin tone is SO hard to get right, and with my computer issues, I'm not sure how it really looks. Does the second picture look weird to you, or am I on the right track? I'm buying a way too expensive monitor calibrator which should correct the problem, but until then, please let me know if anything looks...weird.

First Set

Here are the first set of pictures from the photo shoot with my friend. These are of her very photogenic daughter, and I will be posting the second set of her son in a few days. I'm trying some black and white ones as well as sepia, but for now I'll just post the colored ones. Hope you like them, Carina!
